During the holiday season, the Michigan Virtual Blackboard system will be unavailable from December 23-27, 2019. This scheduled downtime is designed to allow our students, mentors, and instructors to enjoy some true rest and relaxation with family and friends, as well as to allow time for critical maintenance to our systems.
In addition, the Michigan Virtual office will be closed on 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1 for the holidays, during which time our instructors and Customer Care Center will be unavailable. We share this information to help you plan out your schedules this school year.
Our weekly maintenance period begins at 8:00pm EDT every Wednesday and can last up to four hours.
Routine system adjustments that require system outages are made only during this published maintenance period.
Users will be able to anticipate that if maintenance is needed, it will be done on this predictable schedule and not a constantly changing schedule.
On rare occasions, unanticipated problems may cause service outages. Urgent system maintenance that, in the best interest of the users, can’t wait until the normal maintenance period may require immediate action. Such action may result in a temporary system outage.
When possible, advance notice will be provided to minimize the inconvenience. If despite all the fault tolerance and redundancies built into the system to prevent it, an unanticipated outage does occur, immediate action will be taken to restore service as soon as possible.
